Membership Classes
The ASSM has three classes of members: Full Members (who reside in Africa), Associate Members (who reside outside Africa), and Honorary Members. Full and Associate membership can be paid at the current fee, or free during 2026. Please read each class before choosing a signup option.
Full Members
Full Members of the Society are healthcare professionals who reside in Africa, including the off-shore islands, with a specific interest in Sexual Medicine and appropriate qualifications as determined by the Board of Directors.
Full membership includes the online curriculum, members-area access, discounted ASSM meetings, voting rights, and eligibility for office. Join as a paid full member at the current fee (50% off + free 2027), or apply for free full membership during 2026 (access until 31 December 2026; from 1 January 2027 renewal is $50 USD per year).
Associate Members
Associate Members reside outside Africa. Associate Members shall have no voting rights and may not hold office in the Society.
For applicants who reside outside Africa. Join as a paid associate at the current membership fee (50% off + free 2027), or apply for free associate membership during 2026 (access until 31 December 2026; from 1 January 2027 renewal is $50 USD per year).
Honorary Members
Honorary Members are those persons who, in the opinion of the Board of Directors, have performed services warranting their appointment and who have been elected by ballot at a general meeting.
Request honorary membership for Board review. Honorary members have no voting rights and may not hold office; membership does not require annual renewal.
